Kai is growing fast. At his last Dr. appointment, he weighed 8 lbs, 4 oz, which was a couple weeks ago, so he is around 9 now. Seems like a lot to us, although, some babies come out that big. But he is definitely changing. As you can see from the pictures below, he is starting to smile at his mommy and daddy when he sees us.

... but this is still his usual pose, the sleep pose! I think he resembles his cousin Leo, here??? Anyone agree? But there is definitely a belly there that wasn't there a few weeks ago, as well as some rolls in his arms and legs. Little fatso!

Aunt Jeanette came over to spend some quality time snuggling...before she leaves us for Houston (sniff, sniff). Kai said he's going to miss her, but can't wait to go visit.


How'd he get daddy's hat on??? Now all he needs is a fishing pole and a beer! But that can definitely wait!

Kai enjoyed a visit from Auntie Julie, all the way from Hawaii!!! Weren't we lucky to see her! Kai says he misses her already.

And Kai got to meet Auntie's wonderful family, sister Elizabeth, hubby Drew and beautiful niece Trinh.

Auntie brought treats too. Mmmm... musubi. (teriyaki fried spam, rice, wrapped in seaweed... believe me, it's good!)

The last weekend in June, the Schultz family went to the beach for the first time since Kai was born.

As you can see, Casey sure wanted to go!


However, it was soooooo hot, Kai couldn't enjoy the scenery, he had to stay inside all weekend.

Casey picked up the slack for him, as you can see, she was soaking up the sun!
