Visit to Falconer

Kai had a road trip last month to meet his family in western New York outside of Buffalo. It was a hunting trip for Daddy, Grampa Scott and Uncle Mike, who got to go deer hunting with Gramp Schultz and Uncle Robbie (Kai's great grandpa and great uncle - wow that is weird to say!). Unfortunately, we were not very lucky, so don't have any venison to bring home. But it was certainly fun, and nice to see everyone. Kai had a chance to stay at Uncle Terry and Aunt Brenda's beautiful home, visit with Uncle Rob, Aunt Diane and cousin Leo and spend time with Great Grandpa and Grandma Schultz. Although she hasn't been feeling well lately, she had a great time with Kai and looked GREAT!!!

Here are a few of the pictures. Technologically savvy grampa schultz sent me some others, that I will try to post soon.

Four generations of Schultz men!

Casey and her new best friend Rusty played together all weekend, in and out of the house!

Uncle Mike having a cup of joe before sitting in a tree stand for 8 hours and seeing nothing!
And surprisingly, this is what it looked like outside one of the days we were hunting. Snow... in Falconer...HOW SHOCKING!
At least I saw something alive. That's a turkey in the middle of the picture

Kai wanted to go too, he even wore his camo to try and convince daddy he was ready! You only have to wait about 17 years or so...

"OK, I'll just play with mommy, then!"

Back at home, relaxing by the fire

"Who wants a hug???"

It's Halloween! Boo! ...or should I say Mmmoooooo!!

So Kai's first Halloween was fun. He told us he wanted to be a veal, I was surprised he even knew what that was!!! And mommy took these pictures with the fall scenery around him.

We even walked around the neighborhood so he could say hi to some of the neighbors in his outfit and he could ham it up...well, beef it up (sorry, that was a Grandpa Scott joke!)

Mommy and Daddy even had a chance to go trick or treating on Halloween. Can you guess what we were? Hint: you would call me for help eliminating spooky specters, and you couldn't call mommy because she would be in rehab???
The next day the family went for a walk at Ridley Creek State Park to enjoy the fall foliage and the nice weather

If you notice the sleeping bag type thing he is in, it is thanks to Darin Triolo. Yes, love cruise champion Darin Triolo. Kai loves his comfy sack he gets to use outside for walks and in the car. Thanks Darin!

I added some scenery pics for Aunt Jeanette who is in Houston and misses the changing of the leaves here in PA.

I feel like Julie Do taking pictures like these!!!

And as usual, little Kai was asleep by the end of the walk.

And finally, I just had to show everyone what it looks like when Daddy is in charge of feeding time!!!! What a mess!! Believe me, he did eat some of it, though!

Kai's first 5k

So Kai went to his first 5k run last weekend with mommy and daddy, Casey and the Davidson family. He said he can't wait until he can run around like that! Here are some pics from the weekend, as well as some other cute photos to show how he is growing and smiling!

It was a bit cold at the run so Kai had to get bundled up.

Pre-race meal

Casey and Mommy ran together, below you can see them finishing together. I can't see the clock, does that say 19 minutes? Pretty good, 5k time! I think that is a PR for Casey!

It was tiring riding in the stroller for 3.1 miles!

Our photographer didn't realize we wanted Kai in the picture too!!!

Having fun with mommy and daddy, and drooling a bit too!

I love my mommy! And she loves me too

Thanks for the sweater, Mrs. Ball, it's warm and soft!!!

I love my bouncy chairs!!

Is it dinner time yet???

October is here, and I'm sure everyone is as busy as we are with school, work and fall sports in full swing. I hope all is well with everyone. It is getting a bit cooler here in PA, but it feels nice and crisp. I know that is a cliche, but the fall air is crisp. I guess that is why a cliche starts, because it is usually true. I'm sure I wont be praising the cold in a month when Kristina and I are cursing winter and re-living our days in the warm sun of Hawaii.

Here are some pics and videos of Kai. The videos show him giggling, which he has just started to do on occasion. He is also plumping up a bit, as you can see. We go to the doctor in about a week, so we'll see how much weight the little michelin baby has put on.

Talking and giggling with mommy.

Giggling and playing with daddy.

Kai also has started to eat... well, try to eat... rice cereal. I don't think too much gets down from his mouth to his stomach yet. But he'll get the hang of it. Mi-mi said to wait until we went to the Dr to start feeding him cereal, but we can tell he's ready (maybe we should be nurse practitioners!). He is starting to wake up in the night and ask (cry) for food. And he is getting hungrier quicker and staring at our food when we eat. So we're going to give it a try. Now he is really going to fatten up!

Bundled up and going for a walk with Mommy.

Biting mommy's face, one of his favorite pastimes

Aunt Jeanette and little Shadow, Casey's best friend, stayed with us for a week before their big move to Houston. The four of us miss them and hope to see them soon. Road trip to Houston anyone???

Here's a picture to show that even such a wonderful baby as Kai has moments to forget!
