Introducing Leilani to Kai

So, I am just killing time until the next feeding and I thought I would update the blog with some of the pics we have taken of Leilani and Kai together. And as you will see, we haven't forgotten about Kai, there are still many pics of the little boy! Enjoy
Spending time with Nan. The DeCarlo's have spent a lot of time with the baby, helping us out with the big adjustment. Not sure what we would have done without them!
Hanging with some spider friends

Kai loves his little sister already, he is always pointing at her and checking out what she is doing, and he has to give her a kiss on the lips all the time, especially before bed.
"What happens if I shake her seat like this?"
Her eyes are a bit darker than Kai's as you can see
It's tiring sleeping all day
About to be poked by the little fingers on the right
Leilani hanging with Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary
This is a famous Kai pose. Do they look alike?
Sleeping on the couch her first day home
"What happens if I poke her eye like this?"
Mommy looking great as usual
Texting already
"Ah, yeah, I gotta go, Elmo just came on."
Quality time with Daddy
Look at those eyes! What a lucky boy! He obviously didn't get them from Daddy! I feel bad for the hearts he's going to break!
Buds
I know this is probably not appropriate but I just couldn't help myself! This is why he runs away from getting his diaper changed. The living room rug is a much more appealing place to pee!
Kai is not going to let Leila get all of Daddy's attention! If you look close you can see they are holding hands...well, Kai is squeezing her hand, but it's a start!
Loves to play soccer, but loves to just sit on the soccer balls too!
This was Kai's first snow. As you can see, he is not sure if he likes it! Seriously, though the cold doesn't affect him at all. Believe me, no weather can keep him in the house!
Working on the farm - "Dad, am I big enough to ride the tractor?"
Hanging out with cousin Noah
Making music with cousin Luke
"OK, Dad, enough pictures for now! That's all folks!"

Baby pics, baby pics and more baby pics!

Well, there is only so many pictures I can post of Leilani sleeping in her bassinet, but here are a couple more with her parents and grandpa. Today is Wednesday so she is coming home today, although we are still here in the hospital room. It has been a quick couple days, and two very long days at the same time, if you know what I mean. It feels like forever ago that she was born, but also like we just got to the hospital. I'm not sure how to explain it. Maybe I'm just losing my mind! Poor Kristina has barely been out of her room in 2 days so it will be good for her to get out and get some fresh air. It is cold here in Philly right now, so they said Leila shouldn't really be outside, so she will have to wait for an unseasonably warm day...or until March! Anyway, enjoy the pics, and more will follow, especially when we get home and she meets her brother Kai-who we miss terribly!!!!!
Looks like she is holding up the flag! What a little patriot!
That's what sleep deprived daddy looks like. I guess that is what I'll look like for the next, say 2 years!
This is from Tuesday, day two of Leila's life. Sleeping in mommy's arms, a place anyone could take a nice, long nap!
Proud grandpa Schultz. I saw an email from cousin Kendra that dad forwarded to me congratulating the grandparents and us, and it said congrats on the first Schultz girl being born. What a crazy thought that is, isn't it? I'm sure there must have been others, right? It would be interesting to look back at our family tree and take a look. But she sure is the first in a long time.

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!

Hi everyone, just wanted to share a picture of the newest addition to our family. Leilani Rue was born this morning, November 30th at 9:12 am. She was 7 lbs and 19 1/2 inches. Mommy went into labor last night around 3 am and after a quick morning, Kai's little sister was born. Well, quick for me, it may have seemed a bit longer for Kristina since she was the one doing all the work! But again, Kristina was amazing and after only about 2 pushes, out came Leilani. It's been a long day for baby and she is catching up on her shut-eye right now, while her brother awaits her arrival at home with the grandparents on Wednesday. I'm sure we'll have more pics to post of her in the near future, I think we have already taken about 300 and she isn't even a day old! Talk to everyone soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Enjoy the Thanksgiving pictures we took while spending time with the Schultz's, Cornell's, Foster's, DeCarlo's and Spencer's at dinner.

"Mmmmm, turkey"Mommy and Kai right before dinner
Gabrielle saying our before dinner prayer
Daddy and Kai enjoying a turkey drumstick together
Isn't she beautiful? And 9 months pregnant, too.
Kai and aunt Mary reading together. If you look closely, uncle Mike is in the picture, too, asleep. And you can see, he never spilled the beer in his hand!!!!!
Kai playing with cousin Brandon

Grandma and Grandpa taking care of their grandson. "Blow your nose, Kai."
And we actually took some pics of the adults, too! Lori and Mikey
Patty and Lori
Dan and Mike
Mark and Kristina
Thanksgiving morning, Kai doing his morning stretches
This could actually be the last picture taken of the family as we know it (minus Casey, she was home catching up on her sleep.) Kai's sister should be coming along any minute now!
Daddy and Kai out playing in the rain
You can see, he fell a few times running through the puddles. Isn't this how we should cure his cold?

Here he is sprinting through the puddles. We had to buy these boots for him so he could run through them, since he was doing it anyway in his regular shoes and always getting his feet soaked!
Lounging in his wagon, with his head on a ball, in his wagon. What a life!
