September 2009

It is fall and Kai is now over 15 months old and running around like a madman, while his unborn sister kicks away at mommy's belly. Kristina is almost 8 months pregnant now, battling some sciatica due to the pregnancy, but doing well otherwise. Kai is not a baby anymore, and is looking more and more like a little boy. He is talking a lot, not much of it is understandable, though. He has said some things we have understood like baby, Casey, hi, that, up. Mommy thinks he is saying "outside" because that seems to be all he wants to do is go outside and play as you might guess from the pictures below.

I also tried something new, so check out the link below. It has some great pics of Kai which I narrated so there is sound too. Let me know what you think of it, the site is called VoiceThread and is pretty cool.

As you can see, we are starting soccer early here, and I don't think I am being biased but he is the best 15 month old soccer player I have ever seen!!!

Here he is with his buddy Casey. It is hard for them not to be friends when he feeds her as much as he does!

Collecting firewood. "I found a stick, daddy."

Showing off his muscles
Action shot: "He shoots, he scores! GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
This is what he does a lot of the time outside, runs after Casey. It is great to have the yard fenced in though so they can run around together.

Kai brushing his teeth, and his mommy's!

And reading a book before bed. "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you see?"
Mommy is about 8 months now, doesn't she look amazing!

Back to School time!!!

So we are into September and it is soccer and back to school time! The summer is unfortunately over for Kai and Daddy who got to spend mucho quality time together going to the pool, playing in the back yard and taking field trips to the library and the zoo. Our latest trip to the zoo you will see pictured below. He is also doing very good kicking the soccer ball outside, I'll have to get some pics or video of him kicking the ball around and post next time.

Kristina is feeling good, definitely different from the last pregnancy. But obviously there is one BIG difference between Kai and his little sister! Enjoy the pics, I hope everyone out there is doing well.

He sure is a happy little boy when we are outside playing together!

He loves playing with the bubbles on the front porch. If you look close you can see the bubble stuck to the yellow wand he is holding

One of his favorite animals, a giraffe is in the background. It is funny, he didn't notice them in the books too much until we saw them at the zoo this trip

Kai chased this peacock around the zoo for a while until it smartly jumped to the other side of the fence

You can see the teeth that Kai has, and this pic was from about a month ago, he has two more on the top now, and 4 on the bottom

Did I time this picture perfectly or what? I saw these ducks diving down and had to take a few pics until I got them all in the same position. I thought I would be able to come up with a great caption about a "duck's behind" but I got nothing right now. Oh well, still a funny picture

Although he loves the animals at the zoo, he had just as much fun this day playing in the puddles outside of the Zoo shop! Or maybe he is excited because Daddy just spent $50 on books and stuffed animals in the store for him!

Here's what happens after a long day at the zoo! In actuality, this is when we first got there, I had to walk around for a while by myself until he woke up.

Little boy loves his blueberries!!! I swear one morning he had to eat 50-60 blueberries in one sitting. He just pops one after the other in his mouth

"Where's the baby, Kai? That's right, in mommy's tummy!"
